Tried to get to a public H1N1 clinic at Montgomery College today. They had 5,000 doses. When I got there, the line wound literally all the way around campus, and down 355. Easily triple the number of people in line. Gave up,c ame back home. |

You find nothing more disappointing than a gorgeous person who is completely vapid. You can't respect anyone who doesn't exercise his or her mind.
There's something incredibly appealing about someone who can speak intelligently about any subject at any length.
You also appreciate people who are well mannered and well behaved. Politeness goes a long way for you.
The most glamourous people you know totally have it together. Allure is never skin deep for you.

Move On has another poll here: http://pol.moveon.org/chamber/rape/ In this case, it is an attempt to counter the malevolent influence of the US Chamber of Commerce, which is lobbying against the idea of defense contractors being required to protect the rights of their workers: said rights to include the right to be safe from gang-rape by co-workers. The CoC's action in making the claim that this law somehow sets a dangerous precedent exposes just how concious-less big business truly is. Sign the petition. |

Went to see the film with ![[info - livejournal.com]](http://s.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif) silvarbelle tonight. Typical disaster film, not great, not terrible. It tried to not be about the disaster; I'm not sure it succeeded; I'm not sure it failed. I did certainly enjoy the company: and I hope taking the Archie McPhee catalog with me provided her the laughs she really needs right about now. It seemed to do something for her, at least. And she did enjoy the movie much more than I did. The evening itself went rather well, actually. But at 0108, I need to find that rock to crawl under. |
